The construction of the Village Market is on schedule. The structure for the east side of the building is complete and the exterior skin (metal panels and storefront windows) will be starting in the next couple of weeks. The structure for the west side of the building, housing Mariano’s Fresh Market and the main atrium space is picking up speed and will be complete in November. The most amazing thing is that you will be able to see the escalators arrive in a few weeks. The Magellan Development is anticipating the entire building being fully enclosed by March 2011 so that the retail tenants can begin their construction inside the building.

The New Eastside neighbors (including Regatta, Chandler, Lancaster, 195, 175, 155, 400) are still hoping for comfortable access during inclement weather via the “pedestrian employee entrance” on Lower Field Drive (across from the entrance to Harbor Parking Garage). See pictures and two dozen resident comments at http://neweastside.org/MARIANOS.html
